Sunday Selections #5 botanical edition

Once again, I am joining in with Kim at Frog Ponds Rock in posting some pretty pics of my life….

The bulk of photos I uploaded to my 365 project this week were either uninspiring fillers or fantastic portraits of my children … I won’t bore you with the former and I don’t post the latter on my blog.

So I post the one half decent entry from this week…

Sunday Selections #4.

Once again, I am joining in with Kim at Frog Ponds Rock in posting some pretty pics of my life….
This week was all about the full moon….

Dawn Moon on 365 Project

99% Waning Gibbous. This time the photo was taken at dawn in the western sky. I wonder if the decrease in colour and clarity is as a result of city smog to the west. (We live on the coast, so we have lovely clear fresh air to the east).

Then of course, there was deck progress (even further along today).
The deck goes on on 365 Project

There was also a superb B&W photo of Miss K which I won’t post here (but posted on FB).

Looking back over my photos from the past year, I love how my skills have so obviously improved and my knowledge of ISO aperture, exposure … and how to use a bloody tripod properly … has grown.

What about you … do you enjoy the task of trying to get a better shot or are you more of a happy snapper? (Says she who is a bit of both).

Not much to report this week…

We ate well:

Lunch on 365 Project

Dinner on 365 Project

We gazed at the night sky:

and got up really early to see Jupiter, Venus, Mercury and Mars in the early dawn twilight (and I promised my facebook peeps that I’d take an out-of-focus, hazy, poorly composed shot for posterity’s sake … and here it is)…
L-R Jupiter, Venus and Mercury with the red planet (Mars) lurking below on 365 Project

….and our new deck (the one to combat the flooding problem) is well under-way:
...and we have floorboards going down! on 365 Project

Well … some of them as I’m not comfortable posting pics of the kids here … but my facebook and project 365 friends have seen those (and these as it turns out).

Today is mother’s day and I’m not feeling particularly motherly … so here are some pics that have nothing to do with motherhood …

We’ll start out with some pics I took on a trip into the city a few days after ANZAC day. The city is a place I hate to be but occasionally HAVE to be … and yet I remembered to look up and found beauty lurking in the most obvious places…
