Dear God

I know that I’ve had the odd angry word with you in the past few weeks, but now I am just asking that you give:

comfort to those who need it,

protection to those who are at risk,

strength to those who are fighting,

vision to those who  lead us, and

generosity so that the rest of us can share the load of rebuilding.

A bit of soaking rain wouldn’t go astray at the moment either.

A bit of soaking rain would be lovely. We had a few drops earlier then it disappeared, like the rain gods are teasing us.

I just hope there’s some steady, soaking non-storm rain. I know it means that fire-fighters can’t backburn … but I’d rather see the fires out completely for now.
Hope you are not in danger where you are….

We are safe. Greensborough where I am is about 1 hour drive from Kinglake. I get worried when they mention Hurstbridge in the Urgent Threat warnings, but that is about as close as any of the warnings have gotten.

I’d like to see the fires out totally and the ground so wet and soggy that no more fires can start.

Leechbabe – I get so confused as to where all the towns are in Vic – I only know the place my distant rellies live. Hubby used to live there though and is just so shocked when here’s of another place he knows that’s just gone.

WFI – last I heard today was the first day when things were looking up as far as the still active fires were concerned … but that can change quickly.
…and Facebook just proved useful – its let me get a message to a friend in the UK about her big bro in Vic … phone lines are down but he can text me and I can FB her. Finally a use for FB!

  5. From the other side of the world we are watching with horror at the devastation caused. I can’t contemplate that some fire were started deliberately. I don’t know what to say other than I hope that is it over now. xx

Amen indeed! I second that… Well said, A…
